The Goon Show was really the precursor to abstract comedies like Monty Python's Flyinc Circus and On the Town with the League of Gentlemen. In my opinion, sketch comedy in America could use a few lessons in writing sketch comedy from Spike Milligan. Seriously, us Yanks do not know how to write a proper sketch comedy show. If we were on a sinking ship and the only way to save ourselves was to write a very funny piece of sketch comedy....We'd drown. But I digress. The Goons were truely ahead of their time and now here's your chance to see who played who and what. Are you sure you won't have a gorilla?
